Azizi to launch New 5-Star Hotel in Dubai's Meydan by 2028

Azizi Hospitality advances construction of its five-star hotel at Azizi Riviera in Meydan, Dubai, with excavation and foundation works underway and the property scheduled to open in mid-2028.

Azizi Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Azizi Developments, is progressing with the development of a five-star hotel within Azizi Riviera in Meydan, Dubai. The property is currently on track to open in mid-2028 as the company expands its hospitality portfolio across the UAE.

Construction activity is underway at the site, with excavation and foundation works progressing ahead of the main structural construction. Subsequent phases are set to include façade installation, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, followed by interior fit-out, furniture, fittings and operational equipment.

The hotel is planned as a comprehensive hospitality destination combining accommodation with dining, wellness, leisure and family-oriented facilities. Its proposed offering includes Italian and Asian restaurants, wellness facilities, a children’s club, gym and landscaped outdoor spaces.

As part of its focus on design and guest experience, Azizi Hospitality is developing a full-scale mock-up of a guest room, corridor and lift lobby. The model allows the project team to evaluate layouts, materials, circulation and design elements before they are implemented throughout the hotel.

Alongside the physical construction programme, the company is developing the hotel’s operating model and guest journey. This work covers food and beverage concepts, wellness services, technology, service standards, procurement and pre-opening preparations, with operational planning progressing in parallel with construction.

The Meydan hotel forms part of Azizi Hospitality’s broader expansion programme announced earlier this year. The company plans to invest AED75 billion ($20.4 billion) in 151 hotels across the UAE, predominantly in Dubai. The planned portfolio is expected to comprise approximately 60,000 rooms and generate more than 75,000 jobs.

The development also strengthens Azizi’s presence in Meydan, where Azizi Riviera is being developed as a large mixed-use waterfront community. The hotel is expected to complement the area’s residential and lifestyle offerings while contributing to Dubai’s growing hospitality infrastructure.

The next stages of the project will focus on the main structural works and building systems, followed by interior completion and operational preparations. With these phases progressing according to plan, Azizi Hospitality continues to target a mid-2028 opening for the five-star property.
