Dell Technologies and Tahaluf Al Emarat Technical Solutions sign an MoU to develop AI-powered smart city and public safety solutions, combining edge computing with in-vehicle technology to improve urban services across the UAE.
Dell Technologies and UAE-based Tahaluf Al Emarat Technical Solutions have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop artificial intelligence-powered solutions for smart cities and public safety. Announced on October 13, 2026, the partnership aims to help the UAE’s public sector improve urban services, strengthen public safety and respond more efficiently to the needs of residents and visitors.
The collaboration combines Dell Technologies’ artificial intelligence and edge computing capabilities with Tahaluf’s in-vehicle technology platform. The integrated approach is designed to process information closer to where it is collected, enabling public-sector organisations and service providers to identify urban issues and respond without relying entirely on continuous cloud connectivity.

The proposed solutions target practical challenges across cities, including the identification of road and infrastructure problems, parking violations and public safety incidents. By enabling faster processing of operational data, the technology aims to provide authorities with more timely information for decision-making and improve coordination among urban service teams.
Edge computing plays a central role in the initiative by allowing data to be processed near its source rather than being transferred entirely to remote data centres. Combined with AI-driven analysis and existing fleet vehicles, this approach can support wider visibility across urban areas and help authorities identify issues as they occur.
Walid Yehia, Managing Director for the South Gulf region at Dell Technologies, says artificial intelligence creates opportunities for cities to become more responsive to the communities they serve. He highlights the partnership’s focus on integrating intelligent capabilities into everyday urban environments to support earlier issue detection and more informed decisions.
Dr Ahmed Musabbeh Al Kaabi, Chief Executive Officer of Tahaluf, says combining AI with existing fleet vehicles can give service providers greater visibility into infrastructure, parking and public safety requirements. He describes the collaboration as a step towards safer and more efficient urban experiences across the UAE.
