IHG Hotels & Resorts signs an agreement with Vrindam Developers for a 130-key voco hotel in Vrindavan, scheduled to open in Q1 2031 and strengthen branded hospitality across the Braj region.
IHG Hotels & Resorts signs a management agreement with Vrindam Developers Private Limited to develop voco Vrindavan, a 130-key premium hotel in Uttar Pradesh’s prominent pilgrimage destination. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2031, the property marks Vrindam Developers’ entry into the hospitality sector and expands IHG’s presence across high-potential destinations in North India.
The signing comes as Vrindavan and the wider Braj region experience sustained growth in visitor numbers. Vrindavan and neighbouring Mathura attract more than 90 million visitors in 2024, compared with 79 million in 2023. Visitor arrivals are projected to reach between 110 million and 140 million annually over the next decade. Improving connectivity with Delhi-NCR, Agra and Mathura, along with infrastructure projects such as the Banke Bihari Corridor and enhanced expressway links, is expected to support the region’s tourism expansion.

voco Vrindavan will form part of a larger mixed-use development comprising hotel guestrooms and serviced apartments with shared amenities. The hotel will feature 130 guestrooms, including 13 suites, along with three dining outlets comprising an all-day dining restaurant, a dedicated restaurant and a lobby lounge.
The property will also offer more than 2,340 square metres of meeting and event space distributed across six venues. A 1,400-square-metre ballroom will serve large-scale gatherings, while additional facilities will cater to meetings, social celebrations and other events. Leisure amenities will include a swimming pool and fitness centre, supporting both pilgrimage and leisure travellers.
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, says Vrindavan’s cultural and spiritual significance continues to attract visitors from India and overseas. He adds that the voco brand’s relaxed hospitality and distinctive character are suited to the destination’s evolving requirements and that IHG is pleased to partner with Vrindam Developers on its first hospitality venture.

Ankush Kadyan, Director, Vrindam Developers Private Limited, says the company sees an opportunity to introduce an international hospitality offering in Vrindavan as visitor numbers and connectivity improve. The partnership is expected to support the development of a hotel catering to travellers visiting Vrindavan and the wider Braj region.
The new property adds to IHG’s growing presence across the Braj tourism circuit, alongside an upcoming Holiday Inn Express in nearby Mathura. IHG currently operates 53 hotels across seven brands in India, with a further pipeline of 110 hotels expected to open over the next three to five years.
