Sameera Group Invests 150 Crore in Sriperumbudur Industrial Park

Sameera Group invests ₹150 crore in a 450,000-square-foot industrial and logistics park in Sriperumbudur, Chennai. The project marks its entry into the sector, with a five-year plan to develop 5–6 million sq ft across South India.

Sameera Group announces an investment of approximately ₹150 crore to develop a 450,000-square-foot industrial and logistics park in Sriperumbudur, Chennai. The project marks the group’s entry into industrial and logistics real estate, expanding its business beyond residential plotted developments into infrastructure serving manufacturing, e-commerce and supply-chain companies.

The proposed facility is designed to accommodate light industrial manufacturing, third-party logistics (3PL) operators, e-commerce businesses and other logistics occupiers. Building plan approvals are in place, and construction is expected to commence shortly. The group aims to make the development operational within 12 to 15 months.

The project is planned as a Grade A industrial and logistics facility, with infrastructure intended to support modern manufacturing and distribution requirements. Its design includes efficient internal movement routes and shared infrastructure. The group is also pursuing Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum certification, with proposed sustainability measures covering rooftop solar readiness, rainwater harvesting, wastewater recycling, energy and water monitoring systems, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Jayakumar Murugesan, managing director and chief executive officer of Sameera Group, says the investment represents the next phase of the company’s growth. The group plans to draw on its experience in land acquisition and real estate development to establish a presence in the business-to-business property segment.

Sriperumbudur’s industrial ecosystem supports the project’s location strategy. Situated along the Chennai–Bengaluru highway, the wider Sriperumbudur–Oragadam corridor has a concentration of automotive, electronics, engineering and ancillary manufacturing facilities.

According to Knight Frank’s India Warehousing Market Report 2026, Chennai records 8.3 million square feet of warehousing transactions in 2025, representing a 42% year-on-year increase. Manufacturing accounts for 59% of the city’s demand, while the Sriperumbudur–Oragadam cluster contributes 77% of its warehousing transactions.

Sameera Group plans to expand its industrial and logistics portfolio over the next five years, targeting 5–6 million square feet of development with an estimated investment of ₹1,800 crore. Land has already been acquired for future projects in Chennai, Hosur and Bengaluru, which remain at different stages of planning.

Established in 1982, Sameera Group operates across real estate, integrated townships, warehousing, hospitality, education, transportation and renewable energy. The new development represents a strategic effort to diversify its portfolio and participate in South India’s growing industrial and logistics infrastructure market.
