ITC Hotels Signs 171-Room Welcomhotel in Roorkee, Uttarakhand

ITC Hotels signs a new Welcomhotel property in Mandawar near Roorkee, Uttarakhand, expanding its hospitality presence in the state and strengthening its portfolio across destinations with business, industrial and leisure travel demand.

ITC Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement for Welcomhotel Roorkee Mandawar, a 171-key hospitality property planned in Uttarakhand. The signing strengthens the company’s presence in North India and expands the Welcomhotel brand’s footprint in a destination serving pilgrimage, leisure, business and event-related travel.

Located in Mandawar, near Roorkee, the hotel will occupy a 10-acre site along the Delhi–Haridwar Highway. Its connectivity to Delhi-NCR, Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh is expected to support demand from leisure travellers, corporate guests and visitors travelling to prominent religious destinations. The property will also benefit from its proximity to IIT Roorkee and the region’s growing educational and industrial ecosystem.

The hotel will feature 171 rooms, suites and villas, catering to different guest requirements. Its dining facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar and a lounge. The development will also provide extensive facilities for weddings, social celebrations, conferences and corporate gatherings.

The planned event infrastructure includes approximately 14,000 square feet of indoor banquet space and more than 20,000 square feet of outdoor event areas. Recreational amenities will comprise a swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, salon and amphitheatre, positioning the property as a venue for both accommodation and destination events.

Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels Limited, says Uttarakhand continues to emerge as an important hospitality market, supported by pilgrimage, leisure and wellness tourism. He adds that the Roorkee property will strengthen the company’s regional presence while offering guests experiences inspired by the state’s culture, natural surroundings and cuisine.

Sanjay Bansal, Director of Mandawar Luxury Resorts Private Limited, says the partnership represents the company’s first hospitality venture. The collaboration brings ITC Hotels’ brand recognition and operating expertise to the development, with the aim of establishing a destination for weddings and other events.

Welcomhotel Roorkee Mandawar adds to the group’s growing portfolio in Uttarakhand, where tourism, education and industrial activity create demand for branded accommodation and event facilities.
