Accor signs an agreement with Omkareshwar Builders to develop Novotel Solan Kumarhatti, a 120-room hotel along the Kalka–Shimla Highway. Scheduled to open in 2031, the property will feature wellness facilities, dining venues and event spaces.
Accor has signed an agreement to develop Novotel Solan Kumarhatti in Himachal Pradesh, marking the hospitality group’s entry into the hill state. Scheduled to open in 2031, the 120-room property will expand the group’s presence in India’s emerging leisure destinations and cater to travellers seeking accommodation, wellness experiences and event facilities in the Kalka–Shimla corridor.
The hotel is being developed in partnership with Omkareshwar Builders Private Limited and will be located along the Kalka–Shimla Highway. Its location is expected to support demand from leisure travellers, families, destination wedding groups and corporate guests visiting nearby destinations such as Kasauli, Chail and Shimla.

The planned property will feature 120 rooms and three dining venues, comprising a bar, a speciality restaurant and an all-day dining restaurant. Additional amenities will include a fitness centre, swimming pool and spa, creating a hospitality offering that combines leisure, dining and wellness.
The development will also include an 800-square-metre ballroom and event space designed to accommodate weddings, corporate gatherings, social celebrations and meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). These facilities are expected to help the property attract both individual travellers and organised groups.
Ranju Alex, Chief Executive Officer for India and South Asia at Accor, says Himachal Pradesh presents opportunities for hospitality development, particularly in well-connected locations serving leisure and group travel. She adds that Kumarhatti’s position along the Kalka–Shimla corridor makes it suitable for Novotel’s focus on wellbeing, family-friendly experiences and versatile meeting facilities.
Jagdish Kumar Gupta and Lakshit Gupta, directors of Omkareshwar Builders, say the partnership combines the location’s tourism potential with an internationally recognised hospitality brand. They aim to develop a property that serves leisure visitors, families, corporate groups and celebrations.

The hotel will follow Novotel’s “Longevity Everyday” brand philosophy, organised around four pillars: Eat, Sleep, Move and Meet. The approach focuses on dining, restorative rest, physical wellbeing and social connection. Novotel operates more than 630 hotels across over 70 countries.
The signing supports Accor’s broader expansion strategy across India, particularly in high-potential leisure and gateway destinations. Accor India and South Asia operates more than 75 hotels across luxury, premium, midscale and economy segments, including Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, ibis and ibis Styles.
With its accommodation, wellness and event offerings, Novotel Solan Kumarhatti is positioned to serve the region’s growing leisure and group hospitality market when it opens in 2031.
