Indian Hotels Company signs an agreement with Raj Kailash Hospitality LLP to develop a 232-key Gateway hotel along the Yamuna Expressway in Agra, expanding its Uttar Pradesh portfolio to 64 hotels, including 27 under development.
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the hospitality group behind the Taj Hotels brand, signs an agreement to develop a 232-key Gateway hotel in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The Greenfield project is being developed in partnership with Raj Kailash Hospitality LLP and strengthens IHCL’s presence in one of India’s prominent tourism destinations.
Located along the Yamuna Expressway, Gateway Agra is planned to cater to domestic and international tourists, business travellers and guests attending social events. The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a bar, alongside wellness facilities including a gym and swimming pool.

The development will also include banquet halls, a conference room and meeting rooms designed to accommodate corporate gatherings, weddings and other social functions. These facilities are expected to position the property as a hospitality destination for both leisure stays and events.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, says Agra remains an important destination on India’s tourism circuit, particularly the Golden Triangle route connecting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. She also highlights the city’s growth beyond tourism, supported by infrastructure development, new townships and upcoming information technology parks.
The project adds to IHCL’s expanding hotel network in Uttar Pradesh. With the signing of Gateway Agra, the company’s portfolio in the state reaches 64 hotels, including 27 properties under development. The expansion reflects IHCL’s strategy of increasing its presence across established tourist destinations as well as emerging urban centres.
Kishore Kumar Gupta and Mani Gupta, promoters of Raj Kailash Hospitality LLP, say the partnership brings the Gateway brand to a market supported by sustained tourism demand and improving infrastructure. The company operates across hospitality, real estate and tourism infrastructure.
