Jaipur Hotel Boom Brings 40 New Properties Amid Wedding Demand

Jaipur’s hospitality sector enters a major expansion phase, with more than 40 large hotel projects planned in and around the city as global and domestic brands respond to rising destination wedding demand.

Jaipur’s hospitality sector is witnessing a significant expansion, with more than 40 large hotel properties planned in and around the city as global and domestic hotel chains seek to capitalise on growing demand for destination weddings. The projects are at different stages of development, with several properties expected to become operational over the next few years.

Around 20 of the proposed hotels are planned along the Jaipur-Delhi Highway, which is emerging as a major hospitality corridor due to its connectivity and availability of large land parcels. Industry representatives indicate that at least five of the upcoming properties are expected to begin operations within a year, while most of the remaining projects are likely to be completed over a longer development cycle.

The investment pipeline includes projects associated with prominent international and domestic hospitality brands. Several large developments involve investments exceeding ₹300 crore each, reflecting the scale of capital being directed towards Jaipur’s hospitality infrastructure. The expansion is also expected to increase the city’s branded hotel room inventory and create employment opportunities across hospitality and related services.

Destination weddings remain a key factor behind the new investments. Hotel developers are increasingly incorporating large banquet halls, landscaped lawns, and event spaces and supporting facilities into their properties to accommodate weddings and other large social gatherings. These facilities allow hotels to serve both accommodation demand and the growing market for multi-day celebrations.

Recent hotel signings underline the trend. IHG Hotels & Resorts is developing the 225-key InterContinental Jaipur Achrol Resort on a 16-acre site along the Delhi-Jaipur Road. The property includes 36 villas, 189 guest rooms and extensive event facilities, including a ballroom, positioning it for leisure travel and large-scale social celebrations.

ITC Hotels has also signed a 140-key Welcomhotel Jaipur featuring more than 15,000 square feet of banqueting and event space and 22,000 square feet of outdoor greens. The property is designed to cater to MICE activities and destination weddings alongside leisure demand.

The expansion is not limited to Jaipur, with similar hospitality development activity being reported in other Rajasthan destinations such as Udaipur, Pushkar and Jodhpur. As tourism, connectivity and destination celebrations continue to support demand, developers and hotel operators are increasing their investments in large-format properties across the state.
