City Express by Marriott Makes India Debut in Udaipur

Marriott International launches City Express by Marriott in India with a 56-room hotel on the Udaipur–Nathdwara Highway, expanding its midscale accommodation portfolio and marking the brand’s debut in South Asia.

Marriott International introduces its City Express by Marriott brand in India with the opening of City Express by Marriott Udaipur Nathdwara Highway in Rajasthan. The 56-room property marks the brand’s debut in South Asia and expands Marriott Bonvoy’s midscale accommodation offering for business and leisure travellers seeking convenience, comfort and value.

Located along National Highway 58, the hotel provides access to Nathdwara, an important pilgrimage destination, while serving as a base for visitors exploring Udaipur and nearby cultural attractions. The property is approximately 35 km from Maharana Pratap Airport and 30 km from Udaipur Railway Station. Guests can also access destinations such as the City Palace, Eklingji, Delwara and Haldighati.

The opening introduces Marriott Bonvoy’s 22nd brand in India. City Express by Marriott focuses on practical amenities, functional accommodation and efficient service, responding to demand from travellers who prioritise reliable stays without unnecessary complexity.

Cristiano Rinaldi, chief lodging product and services officer for Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, says India remains an important growth market for the company. He notes that the brand’s emphasis on quality, simplicity and value broadens the range of travel experiences available to guests across the country.

The hotel’s 56 guestrooms feature complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, dedicated workspaces, LED televisions, mini refrigerators, electronic safes and USB charging ports. The rooms are designed to accommodate guests travelling for business meetings, sightseeing and religious tourism.

Dining facilities include an all-day restaurant serving breakfast with local specialities alongside international favourites. A fitness centre equipped with cardio and strength-training equipment enables guests to maintain their exercise routines while travelling.

Kiran Andicot, senior vice president for South Asia at Marriott International, says the launch reflects the company’s strategy to serve different traveller segments and expand beyond major gateway cities into emerging markets and high-growth travel corridors.

Abhishek Jha, general manager of City Express by Marriott Udaipur Nathdwara Highway, says the property introduces an experience centred on dependable quality, straightforward comfort and attentive hospitality.

The launch also signals Marriott’s intention to broaden its reach among travellers seeking accessible, well-equipped hotels in destinations that combine business activity, heritage tourism and religious travel.
