LG Electronics Unveils Apple Home Collection Smart Accessories

LG Electronics and Apple introduce a co-developed range of smart home accessories, including cameras, a video doorbell, smart lock, thermostat and temperature sensor, designed to improve home security, comfort and connected living.

LG Electronics partners with Apple to introduce a new range of smart home accessories for the Apple Home ecosystem, combining LG’s expertise in home appliances with Apple’s software and platform capabilities. The collection includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt lock, a smart thermostat and a temperature sensor.

The products are designed to work together through Apple Home and the LG ThinQ application, enabling users to manage home security and comfort through connected devices. The collaboration extends beyond compatibility, with both companies jointly developing the hardware, software and user experience from the early product-planning stage.

The new indoor and outdoor cameras offer video resolution of up to 2.5K, colour night vision and wide-angle coverage. Intelligent detection features identify people, pets, vehicles and movement to provide more relevant notifications. Users can also restrict selected areas from recording, while built-in local storage gives them greater control over recorded footage.

The indoor camera features a 160-degree field of view, a privacy tilt mechanism and physical controls. The outdoor camera supports monitoring in low-light conditions, while the floodlight camera combines surveillance with dual adaptive lights that illuminate surrounding areas when activity is detected.

The wired video doorbell features a dual-camera system, combining a 2.5K front camera with a Full HD bottom camera. It provides broader visibility of visitors and packages, alongside two-way communication, colour night vision and activity detection.

LG’s smart deadbolt lock introduces hands-free unlocking through a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch using Ultra-Wideband technology. Additional access options include NFC tapping, PIN codes and a physical key. Door-status monitoring and real-time notifications provide further security information.

The smart thermostat is designed to adjust home heating and cooling according to household routines, including when residents are at home, away or asleep. Optional temperature sensors monitor conditions in other rooms, supporting more consistent comfort. Matter over Thread connectivity enables responsive, low-power communication.

Privacy remains central to the collection. Apple says camera footage and personal data in Apple Home are protected through end-to-end encryption, preventing access by LG or Apple. The new accessories are scheduled to begin launching in the United States and Canada in December 2026, with selected products arriving early next year. Indoor and outdoor cameras and the video doorbell are also planned for the United Kingdom from December. Availability and features may vary by region. The partnership reflects growing demand for integrated smart home systems that combine security, energy management and convenience through a unified digital experience.
