Sanjay Manjrekar Sells Alibaug Land to CarTrade for 22.4 Crore

Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar sells an 8,050-square-metre land parcel with two residential structures in Alibaug to CarTrade Tech for ₹22.40 crore, according to property registration records.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar sells an 8,050-square-metre land parcel in Dhokawade village, Alibaug, Maharashtra, to digital automotive marketplace CarTrade Tech Limited for ₹22.40 crore. The transaction, registered on October 27, 2026, includes two existing residential structures situated on the property, according to registration documents accessed by real estate data analytics firm CRE Matrix.

The property is located in Dhokawade village, Taluka Alibaug, in Raigad district. The registered transaction records show a consideration value of ₹22.40 crore, with stamp duty of ₹1.344 crore and registration fees of ₹30,000. CarTrade Tech is represented in the transaction by its authorised signatory, Vinesh Mahabal Kuckian.

CarTrade Tech operates digital platforms including CarWale, BikeWale, OLX India and Shriram Automall, which facilitate the purchase, sale and auction of new and pre-owned vehicles. The company's acquisition of the Alibaug property marks a notable corporate real estate transaction involving a prominent coastal destination near Mumbai.

However, the registration documents do not specify the company's intended use of the land or indicate whether it plans any future development on the property. Alibaug continues to attract interest from buyers seeking second homes, residential plots and land investments outside Mumbai. Its coastal setting, accessibility from the city and growing luxury residential market contribute to its appeal among individual buyers and investors.

The region has also witnessed property transactions involving prominent personalities. In September 2026, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar reportedly acquired a 3.86-acre land parcel in Lonavala for ₹70 crore. Other notable buyers and investors have also explored property opportunities in and around Alibaug.

According to local market estimates cited in the report, apartment values in Alibaug range between ₹15,000 and ₹17,000 per square foot. Agricultural land prices generally range from ₹3 crore to ₹5 crore per acre, while non-agricultural land is estimated at ₹8 crore to ₹10 crore per acre.

The latest transaction highlights continued activity in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region's second-home market, where coastal locations such as Alibaug attract interest from buyers seeking residential and investment opportunities.
