Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE Review for Better Home Wi-Fi Coverage

Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE offers whole-home Wi-Fi 6 coverage with speeds of up to 3,000Mbps, seamless roaming, NFC connectivity and support for more than 250 connected devices.

Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE provides a Wi-Fi 6 mesh networking solution designed to eliminate dead zones and deliver consistent connectivity across larger homes. The system combines multiple nodes into a single network, allowing devices to move between access points without requiring manual reconnection. A recent TechBit review highlights its straightforward setup, strong real-world performance and integration with Xiaomi’s smart-home ecosystem.

The dual-band system supports theoretical wireless speeds of up to 3,000Mbps, with up to 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 2,402Mbps on the 5GHz band. Xiaomi says the system can support more than 250 connected devices under laboratory conditions, making it suitable for homes with multiple smartphones, computers, televisions and smart-home products.

The AX3000 NE is available in two- and three-unit configurations, with the devices factory-paired for easier installation. Users can connect the primary unit to their existing router and deploy additional nodes wirelessly or through Ethernet. Xiaomi Mesh technology creates a unified Wi-Fi network and automatically shifts compatible devices between nodes as users move around the home.

The system features four Gigabit Ethernet ports on each unit, supporting wired connectivity, WAN/LAN auto-sensing and LAN aggregation. It also supports technologies including OFDMA, beamforming, BSS colouring, WPA3 security and IPv6. Through the Xiaomi Home app, users can monitor network activity, manage connected devices, configure guest networks and optimise Wi-Fi settings.

One of the system's notable features is NFC-based Wi-Fi connection. Compatible Android smartphones with NFC can connect by tapping the device rather than manually entering the network password. However, the feature does not support iPhones, which limits its convenience for Apple users.

In its testing, TechBit reports that two AX3000 NE units cover practically the entire 200-square-metre test home, including surrounding outdoor areas. A 5GHz speed test records 861Mbps download and 453Mbps upload, with average latency of 25 milliseconds. The publication rates the system 8.7 out of 10, citing its easy installation, Wi-Fi 6 performance and practical NFC functionality as key strengths.

The Xiaomi Mesh System AX3000 NE is positioned as a practical option for households seeking wider Wi-Fi coverage without complex networking equipment. Its combination of Wi-Fi 6, mesh roaming, Gigabit Ethernet and Xiaomi smart-home integration makes it particularly suited to connected homes where stable coverage across multiple rooms is a priority.
